Set up in 1973, The Haven Wolverhampton is a charitable organisation which provides both practical and emotional support services to women and children who are affected by domestic violence and homelessness. The Haven Wolverhampton is one of the largest independent charities in the UK and one of the largest refuge providers in the country.

The charity boasts over 40 years of experience and its staff and volunteers have been providing individual services for every woman and child that seek its help. The organisation aspires to provide quality support and care for women and children in order to enable them to make informed decisions with regard to their life.

Over the past 15 years, the charity has been collaborating with international nongovernmental organizations and civil society organisations in an effort to support women and children in crisis. It has put together training programmes for professionals from India, Nigeria, Russia, Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan to raise awareness of the needs of women and children in distress.

SABR has worked with The Haven Wolverhampton as part of the Partnership Agreement on technical support with the aim of protecting the interests of and improving the living standards of SABR’s target group - the most deprived sectors of Uzbek society, a large percentage of which are women and girls. The Haven and SABR have organized a series of important educational events aimed at protecting women and children’s interests.
