Since 1981, women activists around the world have celebrated November 25 as a day against violence. On December 17, 1999, the UN General Assembly declared November 25 International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women (Resolution 54/134). The UN invited governments, international organizations and non-governmental organizations to hold events on this day aimed at drawing public attention to this problem. The Secretary-General's message notes: “Violence against women causes untold suffering, grief to families, from which both young and old suffer, and impoverishes communities. It prevents women from using their full potential, restricts economic growth and undermines development. ”
Every year on December 10, all progressive humanity celebrates Human Rights Day. On this day in 1948, the governments of the UN member states recognized the human rights "to life, liberty and security of the person for all, without exception, by signing the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, in which they invited all member states and other interested parties to celebrate Human Rights Day 10 December.
A bright page in the international action "16 days against violence" has entered the dates:
December 1 - In accordance with the decision of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the UN General Assembly, adopted in 1988, World AIDS Day is celebrated.
December 3 - The UN General Assembly resolution proclaimed December 3 as the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, with the aim of raising awareness and mobilizing support for important issues related to the inclusion of people with disabilities, both in social structures and in development processes.
The public of the Republic, state, public organizations, civil society institutions are widely involved in this action. The main focus is on strengthening the family. A family based on love, mutual understanding and respect is the true wealth of a person, it is a small world with its own customs, traditions, habits that are created and preserved over the years. A strong family is the primary incentive for a person to move forward, grow, develop and reach new horizons. This is the very rear, where they will always help in difficult times and rejoice in happy times. Domestic violence creates an atmosphere of fear and has a devastating effect on the material, structural, cultural and psychological state of our society. Moreover, it is often detrimental to the safety and well-being of our society as a whole, affecting women, children and men.
We, as defenders of the rights of women and children, bear a serious responsibility for the forms of violence on the ground, why it continues to exist.
We are children of the same planet, Earth! We are all members of the same human family. The happiness and well-being of the people around, society, prosperity and peace throughout the Earth depends on how the relations between the members of this family develop.
We are for world peace - and peace begins in the family.
We are against domestic violence, we are against violence, terrorism and war all over the world!
