Date: January 19, 2007 Participants: Deputies of the Oliy Majlis, representatives of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, the Association of Women's NGOs "Mehr", Representatives of the Association of Business Women of Uzbekistan and the Samarkand region, partners - the Nordwest project, the MFO of the Andijan region, the MF of the ADJ program of the Kashkadarya region, the Association of Credit Unions of the Samarkand region, representatives of regional and city khokimiyats, chairpersons of the women's committee of targeted regions of the region, representatives of the Samarkand regional justice department, representatives of the Internal Affairs Department, NGOs, the media, employees of local offices of the Sabra microfinance program, partners from the Netherlands and Great Britain. Accompanying events: Exhibition - presentation of the activities of the SED "Sabr" Center for 10 years, description of programs, statistical data, photo exhibition. Each participant was handed out an anniversary informational booklet of the SED Center "Sabr".

Results of the conference.
The reports made at the conference outlined the main trends, achievements and problems in the field of microfinance in the world and in Uzbekistan, as well as in the field of employment and the legislative field in relevant areas, emphasis was placed on the role of public organizations in the processes of structural changes in the socio-economic situation of the poor rural areas and the development of business infrastructures.

One of the important results of the conference was the discussion of the issue of improving the legal framework governing the activities of microfinance institutions. The conference participants came up with an initiative to fortify the adoption of appropriate amendments and additions to the current legislation by writing an appeal to the relevant regulatory legislative bodies.

All conference participants noted the high level of reports and discussions, the constructiveness and practical significance of the results obtained, as well as the excellent organization of all types of work at the conference on the part of the SED "Sabr" Center. In general, according to the unanimous assessment of all conference participants, the conference completed all the goals and objectives set for it and became a significant stage in highlighting key problems in the field of microfinance and the role of NGOs in solving socio-economic problems of local development.
